What is Home Care?

Medicare patients receiving home care services are required to be home bound. Most insurances follow medicare guidelines for home care services. Home Care provides intermittent “Skilled” visits of short duration. Teaching for the patient, family, or significant other will begin at the time of admission. They must be willing and able to learn and perform the care needed to provide for the patient, including dressing changes, injections, infusions, feedings, etc., as applicable, per physician’s order.

Medicare will only pay for covered supplies from one supplier at a time. Please notify your Nurse or Therapist before ordering any supplies covered by Medicare including, but not limited to: Ostomy, Wound Care, and diabetic supplies., etc This would include supplies covered by Medicare Part B suppliers.
