As we flip the calendar page to October, we have already felt some unseasonable cool temperatures, leaves are slowly beginning to change colors and those delicious cider mill donuts and cider are readily available. These are quintessentially signs of fall in Michigan. October brings ghosts and goblins but it also brings the very important reminder of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
October is the worldwide awareness of how common breast cancer is and how early detection can save lives. This is the month to wear pink, be sure you get your screenings and support those 1 in 8 women affected by breast cancer. Affinity Home Care Agency actively assists breast cancer patients, survivors and their support people everyday. As with any cancer diagnosis, the disease affects not just the person with the disease, but also those who love them.
We are available to provide transportation to screenings, appointments and treatments. We follow all covid safety protocols to keep you safe. We also provide skilled nursing or companion care for patients going through surgeries, chemotherapy and recovering from their brave fight.
We know how stressful the fight can be. That is why we support the wear pink campaigns including the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink. Look for Chris Zayid wearing pink for the campaign to raise awareness and important funding for the American Cancer Society to fight breast cancer. Funding breast cancer research, screenings and treatments is the best way to fight breast cancer on a large scale.
This month we honor all those who have battled breast cancer so bravely. We honor the survivors and those who fought valiantly. We also salute those who have been the rock they leaned on during their fight. We hope the cure and even better treatments are found. Until then, Affinity Home Care Agency is here to support you and your families. So wear pink this month and make sure your screenings are done on time. If you need assistance, call us to help. Welcome to the Family!
