Not sure what types of assistance you or a family member needs? Do you wonder how you get started? We can help! It’s often uncharted territory when you or a family member needs some extra help. Maybe it’s just for a little while someone recovers from a procedure or surgery. Maybe it’s just to be sure everything is ok while you’re out of town, or just while you’re at work. Affinity offers two different lines of service to our clients. We have both skilled home care and private duty.
Sometimes these terms and different avenues of service lines can get confusing, so let me break it down for you simply. Skilled home care includes, but is not limited to, skilled nursing care, specialized therapists, medical social workers, and chronic disease management, all in the comfort of your own home. The skilled home care requires a doctor’s prescription to be covered by insurance. For Private Duty, we provide home care services with medication reminders, companion care with caregiver relief, non-emergency transportation to doctor visits, the store and much more, as well as mobility assistance. Again, these services are provided in your home. A doctor’s prescription is not required because most private duty is not covered by insurance. There are only some cases covered by insurance.
It is possible that clients will use both skilled home care and private duty. Each client has different needs and we can accommodate that.
